The Los Angeles Galaxy defeated the Columbus Crew 1-0 in a U.S. Open Cup qualifying game on Tuesday night in Columbus. The Galaxy got an early goal from Nate Jaqua in the 17th minute and held on the rest of the way. Both teams rested several starters, and Columbus didn't sub in three of their top offensive players - Joseph Ngwenya, Ned Grabavoy, and Kei Kamara - until after the 60th minute.
The Galaxy will next take on Red Bull New York as they attempt to make it back to the U.S. Open Cup finals.
