The Houston Dynamo have signed an agreement with the City of Houston to exclusively negotiate a stadium deal.
The agreement is the first step in the process to get the Dynamo their own stadium to play in - they currently share Robertson Stadium with the University of Houston. The plan is for a 20,000 to 22,000 stadium somewhere in the vicinity of Minute Maid Park on the city's east end. It would cost roughly $70 million to build.
"It doesn't mean a deal has been reached," Dynamo president Oliver Luck said. "It just means that within certain parameters we've agreed to sit with the city and try to hammer out a deal."
