Guevara to TFC

LA Soccer News is reporting that Chivas USA has traded troubled midfielder Amado Guevara to expansion team Toronto FC. In return, the Goats would get Paulo Nagamura and a draft pick. We reported here that head coach Preki has been unimpressed by the Honduran, but when Guevara picked up a red card for shoving an assistant referee after being pulled from Chivas' 3-1 loss to the Galaxy, it was apparently too much to take.

Guevara was initially traded from Red Bull New York to Chivas USA for their DP slot in the off-season, and it appears he will be on the move once again, this time north of the border. Guevara's antics and ego problems have been well-documented and this is just another chapter in that long, sad story.

Paulo Nagamura was taken by Toronto FC in the expansion draft after being left unprotected by the Los Angeles Galaxy. He was a part of the Galaxy's 2005 team that won the double.

TJ's take: Chivas USA was willing to give Guevara up for practically nothing in return, likely an example of what a cancer he was in the locker room. Here's hoping Mo Johnston can turn him around, but I wouldn't put any loonies on it. As for Nagamura, I wasn't a huge fan of his when he was with the G's, but Guevara impressed me even less.
