Colorado Rapids 1 - Toronto FC 2

Toronto FC continues to be a force at home, downing the Colorado Rapids 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in front of another sell-out crowd.

The home team jumped out to a lead in the 9th minute, when defender Marvell Wynne made a series of moves to get inside the box and found Danny Dichio with a centering pass. Dichio slotted the ball past Rapids keeper Bouna Coundoul for his third goal on the season.

Toronto wasn't done there - they managed a team-record 10 shots on goal in the game, with nine of those coming in the first half. In the 29th minute, Ronnie O'Brien's corner kick was headed home by Andrew Boyens for his first MLS goal.

The Rapids tried to answer minutes later. In the 32nd minute, Conor Casey moved the attack and sent a perfect through-ball to a streaking Herculez Gomez who sent a bullet shot past back-up TFC keeper Srdjan Djekanovic to make it a one-goal game again.

In the 2nd half, things settled down and neither team would find the back of the net again. In the 81st minute, Toronto's Kevin Goldthwaite got sent off for abusive language, but Toronto held on for the victory.

With the win, Toronto moves to 3-5-1 (10 points). They welcome the New York Red Bulls to BMO Field on Wednesday.

Colorado's loss sends them to 4-3-3 (15 points), still just one point behind leaders FC Dallas. Colorado will travel to Houston to take on the Dynamo in the ESPN2 Thursday night game.
