In the June edition of FIFA rankings released today, World Cup champion Italy has maintained the top spot overall, just ahead of France, Brazil, Germany and Argentina.
The United States Men's National Team, benefiting from a good start to their 2007 Gold Cup campaign, jumped 13 spots from 29th to 16th, while watching CONCACAF rival Mexico fall all the way out of the top 20 to land at 26th. The U.S. defeated Guatemala (81st) 1-0, and Trinidad & Tobago (73rd) 2-0, before their 4-0 thumping of El Salvador (130th). The Nats could move up even more if they continue their run through Gold Cup.
Brazil fell to third for the first time since 2002... David Beckham and the England squad remained in 8th... Canada moved up 38 positions to 56th... Iraq's national team slipped five places to 81st.
