Quaranta Out

The Los Angeles Galaxy's roster overhaul continues. After going scoreless in six appearances for Frank Yallop's club in 2007, Santino Quaranta is now on his way to join former Galaxy goalie Kevin Hartman with the Kansas City Wizards, in exchange for a pick in next year's MLS SuperDraft.

Quaranta, acquired less than a year ago from D.C., joined the club with great promise. He notched a game-winning goal in his first appearance as a member of the G's and looked set to regain his old form. Unfortunately, he started the season on the wrong foot, showing up out of shape and hampered by injuries.

Along with ditching the dead weight (pun intended), the Galaxy will be making up some room underneath the salary cap, something the team badly need to do with the additions of Carlos Pavon, Abel Xavier and a certain Englishman all stretching the budget.

Unless of course LA is picking up part of the salary to make the trade happen ala Clint Mathis and RSL. I wouldn't think KC would want to pay the whole salary based on SQ's current form.

It's sad that Cheeseburger never realized his potential with the Galaxy. So much talent wasted. I really don't know if any coach will be able to inspire and/or challenge him. What a waste!!
