Without having named a single player to their roster - or even confirming what name the team will play under - the newest MLS expansion franchise in Seattle has already crossed over 8,000 season-ticket holders. They include Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels and Washington Governor Chrstine Gregoire, according to the Seattle Seahawks, who are assisting in MLS team operations.
The club is on pace to easily sell out Qwest Field by the time they take the field for their first game in early 2009. More than 3,000 people signed up on the day after the city was awarded the franchise and sales show no sign of slowing. They could very easily by in Toronto territory in terms of # of STHs - let's hope they can replicate the awesome atmosphere that can be had at BMO Field.
