Sydney FC Targeting Mathis?

A blurb on Soccer365.com suggests that Sydney FC officials will be scouting Clint Mathis during the club's upcoming friendly with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Acquired just last week from Red Bull New York, the former U.S. MNT star made the trip Down Under with his new teammates and should see some action in Tuesday night's exhibition.
"I heard that he is interested in playing in the A-League, so we followed it up," Sydney coach John Kosmina said. "We've contacted Clint's agent, so we'll see how it goes on Tuesday."

In order for Cletus to join the club in a transfer, Sydney would have to drop one foreign player off of their current roster, as they are at the league maximum of four visa players for this season. But Sydney FC could use the help, as they currently occupy fifth place in the 8-team league, nine points adrift of leaders Central Coast Mariners FC.
