FC Dallas continued their fine recent form as they went on the road and downed the Chicago Fire, 2-1. Carlos Ruiz missed the game with a tight left hamstring, but Kenny Cooper finished on a penalty kick and Juan Carlos Toja scored the game winning goal in the 60th minute.
With the win, FC Dallas (4-3-1) jumps back in front of Colorado in the West, though the Rapids do have a game in hand. Dallas hosts winless Real Salt Lake on Sunday evening.
Chicago (3-3-1) remains in fourth place in the East after suffering their third straight loss. The Fire are off until next Thursday, when they travel to take on the New York Red Bulls in next week's ESPN2 Thursday game.
