Toronto FC picked up their second win in as many games, downing the defending MLS champions 1-0 on a rainy Wednesday. At BMO Field, Andy Welsh headed home a Ronnie O'Brien free kick in the 25th minute and a much-maligned Toronto defense made it stand up.
Fast fact: The win moves Toronto out of the cellar in the East. It also gives them as many wins as Los Angeles and D.C. United combined (two).
Toronto (2-4-0) will be at home once again on Saturday to welcome DCU to town.
Houston (2-3-1) will head back to Texas to host the best team in the league, the New England Revolution.
