Looking to boost their struggling offense, the Chicago Fire have signed 23-year-old Brazilian Bruno Marques Menezes to a contract.
The outside right-midfielder was acquired fro Sao Carlos FC of the Compeonato Paulista Serie A3 in Brazil and will be classified as a youth international. "We are happy to add Bruno to our roster. He has been training with us for awhile now and during that process we've been able to see he's a player that can help us for the rest of the season." said interim head coach Denis Hamlett.
Menezes will be available to join the team starting with the Fire's home game against Colorado tomorrow evening. The Fire are only one point ahead of Toronto FC for sixth place in the Eastern Conference and could find themselves in the conference cellar with a loss on Sunday and a Toronto FC win or tie in Kansas City.
