New York Red Bulls teen sensation Josmer Altidore scored both of the U.S. goals in a 2-1 victory over Brazil on Friday.
The victory propelled the U.S. to the top of Group D and pushed them into the Round of 16 after compiling a 2-0-1 record in the group stage. Poland finished just behind the U.S., and Brazil finished an underwhelming third, meaning they have to hope to be one of the four best third-place teams in order to move on to the next round.
After a lucky draw against a much better Korean team, the Baby Nats rolled over Poland 6-1 behind three Freddy Adu goals and then came today's somewhat surprising result against Brazil. Perhaps Bob Bradley should have included Adu or Altidore in the Copa America roster...
