Newly unemployed, former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello has revealed that he has received an offer to follow David Beckham to the United States, an idea that intrigues the veteran coach.
Despite leading the team to an astounding come-from-behind championship in La Liga, Capello was sacked by club president Ramon Calderon at the end of the 2006 - 2007 season. But in an interview with Goal.com, the Italian says he's turned down two coaching offers from Eastern European clubs and is contemplating a separate offer in the United States.
"I also received an offer from the United States which I am considering," he said. "It would be an intriguing experience, not so much for the money, but to try and help football rise in popularity in the States."
With tensions reportedly running high between L.A. Galaxy head coach Frank Yallop and GM Alexi Lalas, it could open the door for Lalas to seek out Capello's services. A potential reunion between Capello and David Beckham would certainly put the club back in the headlines...
