Rumor: Eddie Johnson To England?

U.S. international and Kansas City Wizards forward Eddie Johnson is rumored to have drawn considerable interest from recently promoted Derby County of the EPL, or so the latest rumor goes on MLS Underground. Johnson has just returned from national team duty in the Gold Cup and Copa America and is ready to resume his torrid pace in MLS. He is tied with New York’s Juan Pablo Angel for the league lead in goals scored (9) and notched back-to-back hat-tricks earlier this season.Derby County manager Billy Davies recently commented on the club’s website that he views the U.S. and Canada as “a prime marketplace for players,” and backed up those words by appointing Colin Miller to the position of assistant first-team coach. Miller is hoped to be the bridge between Derby County and the shores of North America as he earned 61 caps for Canada in his career and also spent time in the now-defunct North American Soccer League.
