Champions Cup Draw Announced

The draw for the CONCACAF Champions Cup was held on Tuesday, with implications for two Major League Soccer sides participating in the tournament.D.C. United, back-to-back winners of the Supporters Shield, will face Jamaican club Harbour View FC, while the defending back-to-back MLS champion Houston Dynamo will take on Guatemala's Club Social y Deportivo Municipal in their quarterfinal series.

The tournament will begin in mid-March, with United traveling to Jamaica and Houston traveling to Guatemala for first-leg matches that will take place between March 11 and 13. The second-leg matches will be at the homes of the Dynamo and United, respectively, between March 18 and 20.

If Houston prevails in their series, they will face the winner of the Deportivo Saprissa - Atlante series. D.C. would face the winner of the Pachuca - Motagua quarterfinal series.

The semifinals will be played between April 1 and 10, with the final series being played between April 22 and May 1.

D.C. United (1998) and the Los Angeles Galaxy (2000) are the only MLS teams to ever win the Champions Cup trophy.

Should Houston and Pachuca reach the finals, that'd be the 3rd time in 2 competitions that these two teams met. Getting a pretty nice rivalry going there.
