A pair of Chivas USA's starting XI have successfully gone under the knife to repair nagging injuries suffered in 2007.
Maykel Galindo, who scored 12 goals and added five assists for the club on his way to becoming a breakout star in MLS last year, had sports hernia surgery on Wednesday. The successful operation will keep the Cuban forward out of action for six weeks, meaning he could miss out on part of the team's pre-season camp, which begins later this month.
Chivas defender and U.S. international left-back Jonathan Bornstein has also undergone an operation. The 2006 MLS Rookie of the Year had arthroscopic ankle surgery in late December to remove scar tissue from his left ankle.
