New Chivas USA coach Preki is not pleased with the play of midfielder Amado Guevara so far this year. Guevara was taken out of last Saturday's first Super Clasico against the Galaxy for ineffectiveness. Around 20 mintues later, Guevara was given a red card while on the bench for shoving an assistant referee after Cobi Jones tallied the Galaxy's third goal.
"I don't think Amado was sharp from the first minute," Preki said. "He couldn't find the ball."
Guevara was traded from Red Bull New York to Chivas USA for their DP slot, which allowed RBNY to go out and sign Claudio Reyna AND Juan Pablo Angel. While Chivas looks pretty solid to start the season, Red Bull New York has clearly won with this trade. Guevara has skills but his ego keeps getting in the way of him being a superstar in this league.
