Chicago Fire Get Blanco Boost

With just about a month left until Mexican star Cuauhtemoc Blanco joins the Chicago Fire, the team is already feeling the positive effects of his signing.

"The tone of our conversations with corporate America since he signed has changed significantly. Blanco's impact will be seen across every aspect of this business," said Steve Guppy, Fire general manager. "There will be an increase in sponsorship revenue, increase in parking revenue, increase in concession revenue and increase in merchandise - we'll see a significant impact."

Hopefully the Fire can use the positives to ink a deal for jersey-front sponsorship, which would be a huge boost in revenue.

Blanco is expected to join the team in early July and should be ready to play shortly thereafter. His first game could come against the L.A. Galaxy on July 4th.
